Final Exam Policy:
As of Spring Semester 2023, the expectation is that all students will be in attendance for all finals as scheduled. This schedule will be over a period of four days in December to allow for all 8 periods to hold final exams. Click here to see schedule.
Parents, please know that winter break begins on December 21st. Please keep this in mind when planning travel. Pre-arrangements for early finals or makeups must be requested in writing to Lana.Flenniken@d11.org by the parent and approved by administration so that the approved documentation can be shared with teachers. We will address emergency absences on a case-by-case basis. Deadline for prearranged requests for December Finals is November 17th, 2023.

Family Involvement
Did you know District 11 schools work hard to build strong relationships between home and school? Most all D11 schools have a Family Involvement Toolkit Coach, or F.I.T. Coach who designs plans throughout the school year to increase family involvement. Be part of your school’s community to increase family involvement by joining the PTA, PTO, F.I.T. planning, or a variety of other opportunities. Together we all help our students succeed! For more information on the Family Involvement Toolkit please click on the link below.
Military Families
Doherty High School proudly supports its strong connection to military families in Colorado Springs through dedicated efforts like our military liaisons, Elisa Villarruel and Lindsay Zandarski, who provide invaluable resources and support. Throughout the year, we actively recognize and celebrate the contributions of military families. most notably during the Month of the Military Child we honor our military connected students at home games, tied purple ribbons around our trees, and conducted a spirit week. Our annual Veterans Day assembly serves as a powerful tribute to honor the service and sacrifice of veterans within our community. Furthermore, Doherty High School participates in Wreaths Across America, with students and staff joining together to lay wreaths at local cemeteries, ensuring that the memory of our fallen heroes is kept alive.
