Vision: Future Ready Through Exploration and Opportunity
Doherty High School’s Counseling and Future Center Programming envisions a future where every student is empowered to discover their path through purposeful exploration and equitable access to opportunity. Grounded in District 11’s Graduate Profile, we prepare students to enter an ever-evolving world with the confidence, curiosity, and skills necessary to thrive as self-directed learners, globally competitive graduates, and civically engaged individuals. Our vision is that all students graduate ready for college, careers, and life—with the mindset and preparation to adapt and lead in a future yet to be imagined.
Mission: Empowering Future-Ready Spartans
The mission of the Doherty Counseling Program is to support all students in becoming critical thinkers, thoughtful collaborators, and effective communicators through a comprehensive school counseling program that fosters academic achievement, personal growth, and postsecondary planning. We build meaningful relationships and deliver tailored supports that recognize each student’s individual strengths, passions, and goals. By cultivating resilience, character, and a commitment to exploration, we guide students toward personalized pathways that prepare them to graduate aligned with the D11 Graduate Profile and equipped for lifelong success.
Parent and Guardian Guidance: Supporting Your Student’s Path
We believe a strong partnership with families is essential in preparing students to be future ready. To best support your student’s success:
-
If you have questions about your student's grades or class content, teachers have the most up-to-date information about classroom performance and learning expectations.
-
Use PowerSchool and Schoology to track your student's academic progress.
-
Teachers can be contacted via PowerSchool or Schoology for quick communication.
Your partnership ensures that together, we help every Spartan graduate with the skills and readiness defined by the D11 Graduate Profile.
